Off-grid resilience: energy and water independence

Many things go into making a house a house things like site preparation (like permitting), utilities, and mainly the invisible work you normally don’t see can take months and thats because modern life depends on power, plumbing and access. But not every location or living scenario comes with working infrastructure especially if you’re in an isolated remote region. That’s why Tinybox homes are built to be configurable to be fully sufficient from the day of your move in.

Wether you’re in a disaster zone, remote zone, an undeveloped lot or just an area where these thing’s typically aren’t reliable you can experience things like loud nosies, minimal access to electricity, limited and at times unsafe water as well as limited sewage use. We’ve built our homes off-grid compatible so we can alleviate those paint points.

The Stanley Mugs of Homes

Our units are designed around being highly efficient so to put that into a metric think 25% electrical usage as compared to a typical home and that’s thanks to our highly insulated walls and unique thermal management solutions. With that minimal usage in mind we’re able be solar-ready in such a small package regardless of climate conditions.

In short we keep the three most basic principles effective…

  • Electricity no poles, carbon emitting generator and/or hookups needed

  • Water has no need for wells

  • Sewage has no need for huge in-ground septic tanks while still retaining a standard toilet

Waste Without the Waste

Each home can include an ISO 30500-certified bioreactor toilet—a self-contained unit that treats waste on-site with no sewer or septic connection required.

  • Handles up to 30 flushes per day

  • No odor, no tanks to empty, minimal maintenance

  • Ideal for remote or flexible living setups

Off-grid doesn’t mean off-comfort. Whether it’s for independent living or a high-end escape, TinyBox makes remote living a seamless experience.

Think glamping without compromise—a glass of wine under the stars, a hot shower in the middle of the woods, and a clean, fully functional home in a place no one else can reach.

Access should never limit what’s possible. With TinyBox, you can live well—whether you’re preparing for uncertainty, expanding into new terrain, or simply choosing to disconnect on your terms.
